Susan Ithappiri Cherian, known by Susan, entered into eternal peace on Monday morning, November 24th, 2014. She was a caring wife of nearly 40 years, a loving mother and grandmother, and a great friend to many. Susan leaves behind her husband (S.K. Cherian), son (Sudeep Eldo K. Cherian), daughter (Dr. Sabina George), son-in-law (Abraham George), daughter-in-law (Sandhya Cherian), and grandchildren (Leila and Zachary George).
Susan was the 4th child of the late Varkey and Annamma Ithappiri Vachery, and sister of the late Mathai, Varghese, and Ammini; she is survived by siblings Saramma and Paulose.
After receiving her post graduate nursing degree, Susan worked as a registered nurse in Erode, Vellore, Bombay, and Bahrain, before emigrating to the US in 1975, where she continued her career as an Operating Room Nurse. She loved being a nurse, from the first day of nursing school through her last day on the job. She found great joy in caring for people: her patients, her family, and her friends.
Susan was well known among family and friends for her creativity, her writing, acting, and directing skills, her playful lightheartedness, and her delicious cooking. She enjoyed her time serving as a great mom to her kids, a great "Momachi" (grandma), and staying in touch with close friends.
Her devout faith kept her strong through highs and lows of her life and the Almighty has now called her to eternal happiness.
Please keep the departed soul and the bereaving family in your prayers
